Scenic Rim Eat Local Week has something for foodies of all ages, from family-friendly farm tours and workshops through to exclusive dining events hosted by some of Queensland’s finest chefs.

If you love wining and dining on fresh, local and lovingly-prepared food and drinks, surrounded by good company, these events are for you!

1. Green Lane Coffee Producers’ Dinner – June 22

Join Brenda Fawdon and Christine Sharp, co-authors of Eat Local, for an intimate evening of food, wine and conversation. Enjoy a three-course dinner prepared and cooked by Brenda, celebrating the Tamborine Mountain producers featured in the book, Witches Falls Winery wines and Tamborine Mountain Distillery liqueurs. 2. Degustation @ Kooroomba – June 22

Enjoy a seven-course degustation dinner at the beautiful Kooroomba Vineyard and Lavender Farm. This epic event will showcase the Scenic Rim’s best local produce and matched local wines. Numbers limited.

3. Nose-to-tail Feast @ Kooroomba – June 23

A dining experience in festival feasting long table format. Experience the range of flavours and techniques used to utilise the whole animal, expertly put together by their European trained executive chef Daniel Groneberg and accompanied by the finest produce that the Scenic Rim has to offer. Live music will also feature as part of this evening.

4. Wild Canary Producers’ Lunch – June 28

Experience a five course degustation lunch and enjoy stories direct from the producers. Executive Chef Glen Barratt will showcase the best seasonal produce from the Scenic Rim in the beautiful setting of Wild Canary Botanical Bistro at Brookfield.

5. Meet the Authors Producers’ Dinner @ Cedar Creek Lodges – June 29

Join authors Brenda Fawdon and Christine Sharp as they relive their experiences of creating Eat Local Volume 2. Enjoy 3 shared courses designed by chef Luke Turner around local Tamborine Mountain produce. All paired with award winning local wines and spirits.

6. Scenic Rim Food & Wine – a Historical Perspective – June 30

Enjoy a three-course lunch starring locally-sourced fare overlooking the Numinbah Valley in the Clifftop Dining Room. Learn about the origins of the Scenic Rim and its food from Binna Burra legend Richard Groom while Witches Falls Winery’s Michael McAteer provides insights to the wines paired with each course.

7. An Afternoon @ Valley Pride Produce – June 30

Join ANTS for an afternoon of Scenic Rim flavours overlooking the lush fields of the fifth generation Scholl family farm. Indulge in a menu of food and drinks showcasing produce from across the Scenic Rim. Limited spaces available.

8. O’Reilly’s Canungra Valley Vineyards Longest Lunch – July 1

Kick off your shoes and sink your feet into the soft grass by the bubbling waters of Canungra Creek and indulge in a delicious three course shared platter menu featuring the best produce from the Scenic Rim. Accompanied by a fine selection of O’Reilly’s wines of course!

9. An Afternoon of Wine & Pizza @ Paradine Estate Winery – July 1

If pizza and wine is your kind of long lunch, this one’s for you! Join the folk from Paradine Estate Winery for an afternoon at their boutique and picturesque vineyards in Harrisville.  Wander the vineyards at  your leisure and enjoy Paradine red wine and unlimited pizza.

10. Meet the Authors Luncheon @ Scenic Rim Brewery – July 4

Meet Brenda Fawdon and Christine Sharp, authors of the Scenic Rim’s very own Eat Local Volume 2 cookbook. Enjoy a rustic lunch inspired by Wendy’s Dutch heritage, featuring produce from around the Scenic Rim. Includes a beer or wine on arrival. Arrive 12noon for 12.30pm start. Receive your signed copy of Eat Local Volume 2 on the day.

11. Scenic Rim on a plate @ Austin House – July 4

Bahukara presents this five course culinary experience with matched beverages showcasing unique heirloom and gourmet produce, herbs, spices and botanicals from the Scenic Rim. Austin House Chef Mitchell Fox and Bahukara have joined forces to bring the very best of degustation dining to Boonah.

12. An evening with Josue Lopez @ Witches Falls Winery – July 4

Indulge your senses at this exclusive evening with Josue Lopez, Executive Chef Emporium Hotel, Southbank. Sample eight canapes, each reflecting Josue’s passion for fusing art with taste while showcasing local, seasonal and indigenous ingredients. Each canape perfectly paired with Witches Falls wines.

13. Beef & Beer Night @ Scenic Rim Brewery – July 5

Back by popular demand! Enjoy a night at the brewery with Scenic Rim Brewery beer and a selection of winter-warming beef dishes made from locally sourced ingredients. Mike the brewer will share his weird and wonderful knowledge of all things beer! Make new friends and enjoy the cosy atmosphere in their lovingly restored 130-year-old building.

14. Canapes and Cocktails @ Summer Land Camels – July 5

An evening experiencing delicious delicacies and tastes whilst sipping on cocktails made personally by their awarded mixologist. Join Summer Land Camels for an Arabian Night surrounded by music and the beauty of a Scenic Rim sunset and gorgeous camels.

15. 10 Years of Beers Pavilion Garden Bar – July 6

Celebration dinner for 10 years of brewing by Beard and Brau Farmhouse Brewery and the Pavilion Garden Bar’s first birthday. Ten course meal filled with local produce matched with 10 beers brewed locally by Beard and Brau Brewery. The brewers and producers will be on hand as head chef Steve Hibbard takes you on a culinary tour of the Scenic Rim.

16. Picnic in the Paddock @ Allamburra Organics – July 8

Join Allamburra Organics for an Eat Local brunch on their certified organic farm on Tamborine Mountain. Set up your own little picnic spot amongst the fruit trees and enjoy the tastes of the Scenic Rim, with special catering by local Chef Kate Raymont from The Vintage Pickle. This is the full Eat Local experience. The farm dogs, chickens, sheep and a peacock will be there for entertainment too. Shop from the Egg Shed’s range of farm produce, locally-made and certified organic products (pre-orders welcome).

17. Long Lunch with Brenda and Christine @ Summer Land Camels – July 8

Join Christine and Brenda, the authors of the Eat Local Volume 2 and the Summer Land Camels team for lunch showcasing Scenic Rim delicacies. Enjoy an intimate interaction with the authors sharing their wonderfully delicious experiences writing the book.

18. Long Table Lunch @ Spicers Peak Lodge – July 8

Experience destination dining at its best. Local produce will be honoured in the remote high country with a fireside three course lunch paired with wine produced by our local heroes, plus live music in a convivial atmosphere of relaxed luxury.
